EA SPORTS Active is Taking Fitness by Storm

The giants of the software development industry are going to join in competitive battle with the developers behind the Nintendo’s Wii Fit technology.

On May 19, 2009 the new software named Wii Active penetrated the market. This is in direct competition with Nintendo’s Wii Fit.

Wii Active by EA shoots to target women that want to take part in a lot of different exercise games without need to leave the home. A lot of people think this new product will out do the Wii Fit for a lot of reasons:

1. The price of Wii Active is $30 less than the price of Wii Fit at $90.

2. No balance boards are in this exercise regimen. These can be, at times, a hindrance for those that do the whole workout routine because they are worried half the time about falling off the small platform.

3. In place of balance boards, there are nunchuk pockets and power bands and these 2 main accessories are for the entire workout program.

4. There are more exercises, over 20, that are motivational challenges to begin with

5. The trainers in this program are patterned after the biggest star’s trainers so that the workout regimen is more believable.

A lot of expert critiques think that if EA can come up with a way to correctly judge Body Fat in a percent form, Wii Fit will have a real competitor on its hands.

For now, the first model looks like it still needs a few adjustments. But, it has real great potential to soar.
