Wii Active – Doing the Exercises

One of my favorite things about Wii Active is that there are two controllers so you can work out with a partner. However, if you plan to join the 30-Day Challenge you may want to set your goals and do some working out alone.

Don’t stress, because if you exercise with a partner and then log into the challenge just go into your journal and the software will automatically adapt for you.

Make sure while you are doing the exercises that you always follow the prompts that appear on your screen, this is to ensure you do everything correctly and at the right pace. Remember, each exercise is meant to be at a certain intensity, you don’t want to be slacking.

Some of the programs will give you on-screen messages to let you know if you are doing it correctly while others will make a ding sound to let you know when a new move is coming. Your trainer is also on the screen so you can follow their body movements sort of like when you are working out to an Exercise DVD.

The avatar of the Trainer will move along with the workout so you will always know exactly what to do and when. Make sure to pay particular attention to the positioning of your body so you can target the correct muscles.

If you find yourself in a workout that is becoming too difficult and you wish to stop, simply press the + button on your Wii remote and pause the game. You can then select to “Skip Exercise” and move on to the next routine.

Also, at any time you can remove an exercise by marking a red “X” next to the exercise you don’t want to do that day.
